An old man once told me:

“The one who truly loved me died. She took my entire world with her.

My children now think of me as a burden. My grandchildren don’t care about me.

I invested every ounce of my Life into building this family. I didn’t sleep nights and worked second shifts to give them a good Life.

I was not as present as she was, for as a man, I had to make money. But I was a good father and a great grandfather. I fed them, educated and grew them.

It’s not about the material investment; I put my entire soul into each of them.

Now that I am left all alone, I wonder: “Why did I live? What was it all for?”

I lost everything, and I am flying into the abyss of emptiness.

What am I to do?”

Today I’m telling you:

“Become this old man right this moment.

If your Life is worth anything to you, accept the fate of this old man.

That which you are so short-sighted and arrogant to foresee will happen to you too.

You, too, will end up all alone and needed by no one.

Your children, too, will surely turn against you.

All of a sudden, your entire world will collapse, and you, too, will wonder: “ Why did I live?”

You were born as this lonely man, and you always stayed him.

But you were too desperate to see otherwise.

You spent a Lifetime chasing after being needed, only to end up utterly undesired.

An old man is a done man. He has no Time left.

But you and I have a bit of Time.
